Montague Park was designed with the needs of today’s users in mind and offers:

  • Dual-lane boulevards, traffic circles and carefully considered stacking areas which have been implemented to alleviate traffic congestion

  • Walk-ways have been allowed along both sides of the boulevards to ensure pedestrian safety and regulate foot traffic

From a security perspective, the entire Park is surrounded by a palisade fence to limit vagrant access to, and loitering within, “green spaces” while the industrial precinct restricts public access via a purpose-built gatehouse and is surrounded by an electrified palisade fence.

Security measures within the Park include:

  • Manned gatehouse

  • Regular security patrols

  • Records kept of traffic entering and exiting the industrial precinct

  • Provision is made for CCTV monitors to be installed throughout the Park with viewing stations in the Park office.
  • Maintenance crews for the Park

The Park has an eco-friendly focus which is seen in the landscaping of the surrounding gardens and the rehabilitation of the local Duikersvlei stream which has resulted in an increase in birdlife in the area.

A central reservoir sees to both the storage and distribution of grey water for irrigation purposes, as well as being a reserve of fresh water for use in the case of fire emergencies within the Park.
